Transducer Connections

Connectors used in Showa strain gage based transducers are generally those of the NDIS standard. The connections between the bridge circuit and the connector with cable are shown in the drawing given below. Note however that, in some Models of products, a special connector with cable with leadwires in different color assignment is employed in it. In these circumstances, refer to the circuit diagram attached to the individual transducer you may have bought for rectification and/or adjustment of the situation provided that the specifications and the color assignment of the leadwires of the connector employed in your transducer do not correspond to those illustrated in this data sheet.

Drawn out cables and associated connectors

1.Drawn out cables in the lengths of 3m and 5m: The cable is drawn out directly from the transducer body. The tip of the cable is generally left naked with vinyl covering being peeled off, excluding some Models.

Remarks: The connector of the NDIS Standard with an associated plug can be optionally mounted at the tip of the cable.

2.The drawn out cable in the length of 0.3m with an associated jack mounted on the tip of cable: This is a cable drawing out system mainly employed in the displacement transducers and miniature pressure transducers. A connector of the NDIS Standard with an associated jack is mounted at the tip of the cable with which a connection is made through the relay cable provided.

Remarks: The relay cable will have to be procured separately as far as the displacement transducers are concerned because the relay cable is not included in the standard supply of the displacement transducers.

3.The combination with the connector of the NDIS Standard with the associated receptacle: This combination method is adopted mainly in the load cells, torque transducers, pressure transducers and so on and connection of the connector with the receptacle is made through a 5m relay cable provided together with the transducer.

Remarks: Connection with the one-touch connector to the relay cable can be made instantly as shown in the illustration given below.
